Google has released the Android distribution numbers for the seven-day period ending on September 5, and things are looking good for Marshmallow. Android 6.0 grew over 3.5 percent since last month and it’s now up to 18.7 percent.
Almost one-fifth of the Android market is a large chunk, but we already have a new version of Android that should show up on the next distribution chart. Nougat is the new version we’ll all be watching, though Marshmallow should be growing more and more as older devices are very slowly updated.
Fortunately, over 80 percent of devices are now on Android 4.4 and up, but it’s not likely updates will start coming quicker.
