Earlier today, Google not only made it clear when the Android Wear 2.0 update would see the light of day, but it also introduced two new smartwatches: The LG Watch Sport and Watch Style.
Now Verizon wants to get in on the new announcement fun. Big Red has officially announced its own Android Wear 2.0-based smartwatch, called the Wear24 (pictured left, next to the LG Watch Sport), and confirmed it will be running the latest version of Google’s smartwatch-focused operating system right out of the box.
Verizon did confirm that the wearable will be IP67-rated water resistant, so it can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Other specs include a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, NFC and Android Pay support, a battery measured in at 450mAh.
The Wear24 will be priced at $299.99 with a two-year activation along with it, and Verizon says it will be available both in its physical retail stores as well as its online shop beginning sometime in March.
