It has been almost two months since HTC officially unveiled its newest flagship, the U Ultra, and now we finally know when the handset will begin shipping.
HTC recently updated the official landing page for the U Ultra to say that the unlocked variant will start shipping on Friday, March 10. HTC has been taking pre-orders since the U Ultra’s unveiling, so those who previously pulled the trigger now know when to expect their handset to arrive. For those who haven’t bought one yet, HTC lists the U Ultra as in stock at a price of $749.00.
For that price you get a phone with a 5.7-inch Super LCD display and a resolution of 2560×1440 and a secondary 2.05-inch display above that. That second screen can be used for music playback controls, quick access to apps, and more.
The other tentpole feature for the U Ultra is Sense Companion, which learns from the owner’s specific usage patterns and offers recommendations based on those patterns. It can also inform you of important information, like if it’s going to snow that you should wear a coat.
As far as the rest of the specs are concerned, as a refresher (it has been awhile!) the U Ultra boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor under the hood, along with 64GB of built-in storage, 4GB of RAM, and a fingerprint sensor on the front. The battery measures in at 3000mAh, the rear camera is a 12-megapixel shooter, and there’s a 16-megapixel Ultra Selfie camera on the front. It doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack, though, so that single USB Type-C port will be handling headphones and charging.
