The TAG Heuer Connected with Android Wear is official, goes on sale today for $1,500

It’s been known for quite some time that TAG Heuer had plans to unveil its new smartwatch on November 9, and sure enough the watchmaker has done just that. The new TAG Heuer Connected is built with the company’s pristine hardware in mind, but also brings in Google’s Android Wear platform.

The TAG Heuer Connected boasts a 1.5-inch circular display with a resolution of 360×360, and it’s equipped with a dual-core Intel chipset inside, which is clocked at 1.6GHz. The Connected has 1GB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, supports Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and the battery is measured in at 410mAh. The Connected’s casing is made from titanium.

There are some TAG Heuer-inspired watch faces to choose from, and thanks to Android Wear owners will be able to check messages, ask Google for help, show your step count and more.

As far as pricing goes, the TAG Heuer Connected will have a price tag of $1,500. For those that already know they might want to get rid of the Android Wear-based smartwatch in a couple of years, there’s a trade-in program in place that will let owners trade in the Connected for a new mechanical TAG Heuer Carrera — for another $1,500.
