Google and LG are expected to debut new Android Wear smartwatches tomorrow, but they aren’t the only companies prepping new Android Wear hardware.
A new image of the ZTE Quartz has been leaked by VentureBeat, revealing ZTE’s first Android Wear smartwatch. Details about the device are light, but ZTE USA CEO Lixin Cheng recently confirmed that ZTE is prepping an Android Wear smartwatch and that the device will include LTE connectivity that’ll enable it to work without a paired to a smartphone.
It’s tough to glean many details about the ZTE Quartz from this leaked image, but we can see that it’s got a round display of an unknown size as well as a button on the upper part of its right side.
We’ll have to wait until ZTE officially announces the Quartz before we can say much else about it, but it’s good to see that more Android Wear smartwatches are coming to market soon. We’ve been going through a bit of a drought lately when it comes to new Android Wear hardware, but with the impending launch of Android Wear 2.0, it looks like that’s about to change.
