TAG Heuer is no stranger to the Android Wear market, having launched the luxury-priced Connected in 2015. And now the watchmaker has another device for us to consider.
TAG Heuer has officially unveiled the Connected Modular 45. As the name suggests, this is a watch that can be designed to the very buckles to build the watch you want to look at and wear on your wrist. This means you can even choose to switch between a mechanical watch or a connected smartwatch if you desire.
The smartwatch includes Android Wear 2.0 with 4GB of built-in storage, 512MB of RAM, and a battery that’s measured in at 410mAh. TAG Heuer says that that battery can run for 25 hours of “normal usage,” for those who are most interested in longevity. The Connected Modular 45 also includes NFC support for Android Pay, GPS, a microphone, and a light sensor.
Google Assistant is included here, too, and TAG Heuer says its smartwatch will offer a “brand new world exclusive time management experience,” thanks to an app on your smartphone that will keep track of calls, tasks, and calendars. It will also adapt to your schedule.
As far as customization options go, the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 will let you choose from a variety of different watch faces, including 3-Hand, GMT, or one, two, or three counter Chronograph. You can choose a variety of different finishes for the connected module, including steel, aluminum, ceramic, diamonds, or 18K rose gold.
Additionally, you can customize the buckles, from black PVD to titanium, and there are bracelets that are offered in ceramic, leather, colored rubber, or titanium. The lugs are customizable as well, with options in ceramic, titanium, rose gold, and diamond.
TAG Heuer is pricing the Connected Modular 45 at $1,650. Depending on the customization options that you opt for, though, the price can go up to $7,000.
So, are you spending over $1,000 to make the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 your next watch?
