Social networks would like to make sure that at any moment of the day, you’re able to use their platform. Instagram has figured out a way to make it possible even without an internet connection.
At Facebook‘s F8 conference, Instagram announced a new offline mode for Android. As described by Instagram engineer Hendri, users will be able to see view the feed that was previously loaded when they were connected to the internet.
Offline users will also be able to leave comments, save content, Like posts, and even unfollow people. All of these actions that are performed offline will go into effect once the user reconnects. Profiles that the user has visited will also be visible while they are offline, and they’ll be able to see an old version of their own Explore tab as well.
A big, and important push for Instagram, to be sure.
