The 3.5mm headphone jack was absent from multiple devices last year, so we’re happy when see big companies like Samsung keeping an important feature rather than removing it and implementing workarounds. Motorola was one of the offenders that left out the 3.5mm jack from the Moto Z.
A big leak has revealed a whole lot of renders of the upcoming Moto Z2 Force and there are a lot of interesting details to discuss. A big one is the appearance of the headphone jack, which is a big win for consumers if this decision sticks around to production. Ditching a much-used port with no alternative other than adapters or buying new, potentially worse accessories is not a consumer-friendly move.
Other details like a dual camera, front-facing dual LED flash, a slimmer body (5.99mm thick without the camera hump), black trim surrounding the device, a different fingerprint sensor, and more. Older Moto Mods will likely work on this new device as well.
Interestingly enough, the device might not end up Verizon exclusive this time around. The leak claims that it will be available on Sprint with Category 16 LTE speeds, which also means that there will be a Snapdragon 835 inside. This lines up with Sprint’s announcement of Cat 6 LTE in partnership with Motorola and Qualcomm.
