LG Signature Edition launches in Korea for $1,800

Status is everything in the world of celebrities and executives, and LG is hoping to create a status symbol with its latest smartphone, the LG Signature Edition. The exclusive device features top-of-the-line specs, a distinct design, and a price tag to match, retailing for 2 million won, or about $1,800 USD. That price sets the Signature Edition well above flagships and even above the iPhone X. But the device isn’t for everyone, and only 300 will be sold in LG’s home country of South Korea.

The back cover of the device is constructed with glossy and scratch-resistant zirconium ceramic, a material often used in luxury watches. On the front is a 6-inch 2880×1440 OLED display that features an 18:9 aspect ratio and razor-thin bezels. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. The LG Signature Edition also features a 16-megapixel rear camera, 13-megapixel wide-angle rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3300mAh battery, Android 8.0 Oreo, and IP68 dust and water resistance.
