Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor is making its way into another Wear OS smartwatch.
Fossil today announced its Sport Smartwatch, which is the second watch we’ve seen with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch comes in 41mm and 43mm case sizes and supports interchangeable straps. There’s a 350mAh battery included that Fossil says will last 24+ hours on a single charge, and you can get another two days of battery life with the battery saver watch mode.
The array of sensors included with the Fossil Sport Smartwatch includes GPS, heart rate, NFC, altimeter, gyroscope, accelerometer, and ambient light. There’s a microphone in there, too, along with 4GB of storage that’s built in to the swimproof body. On the software side, Fossil has included three watch faces that integrate with Google Fit to help track your fitness, and Fossil has also preloaded apps like Spotify and Noonlight.
The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is now available from Fossil’s online store for $255. If you prefer a brick and mortar shopping experience, you’ll be able to snag the Sport Smartwatch from select Fossil retail stores around the globe starting November 12.
The first Snapdragon Wear 3100 smartwatch was the Montblanc Summit 2, which is priced at $995, so it’s nice to see an SW3100 watch come to market with a lower price tag. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch looks like a nice wearable, offering features like GPS and heart rate monitoring in a clean, good-looking case.
Does the inclusion of a Snapdragon Wear 3100 have you interested in the Fossil Sport Smartwatch?
