The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has almost everything you can possibly want. Three rear cameras, 3D face unlock (the real kind), an in-display fingerprint sensor, a massive 4,200mAh battery, a curved AMOLED display, expandable storage, you name it. Unless “it” is a headphone jack… that’s still missing.
iFixit tore the device apart to show off all of the Mate 20 Pro’s goodies. The device ended up being relatively simple to disassemble and surprisingly modular. The USB-C port is a separate piece on a ribbon and is easily replaced in case of damage, and a battery change only requires removing the rear glass.
Unfortunately, the display replacement is a bit tough as it is on many devices with a display in the metal frame. And like with every water resistant device, there’s lots of glue to keep fluids out.
The device received a repairability score of 4/10, which isn’t great but isn’t bad. Nonetheless it’s interesting to see what’s inside the Mate 20 Pro so hit the source link and take a look!
