Back in September, when Xiaomi introduced the Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite, the company confirmed the handsets for a launch in China but was tight-lipped about any other potential releases.
Now Xiaomi is ready to launch the Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite in the United Kingdom, which will mark its next major international expansion. Xiaomi will be opening a dedicated storefront for its products in the Westfield shopping center in London which not only includes both Mi 8 smartphones, but will also have headphones, computer accessories, and more on hand.
A quick refresher on specs: The Mi 8 Pro features a 6.21-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, an in-display fingerprint sensor, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery, a pair of rear cameras, USB-C for charging, and a face unlock feature. In China, pricing starts at around $468.
Meanwhile, the Mi 8 Lite features a 6.26-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, dual rear cameras, a 3350mAh battery, USB-C, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and pricing starts start around $205 in China. Both handsets will go on sale in the United Kingdom this weekend, starting on Saturday, November 10.
Xiaomi’s European expansion continues, with the wireless carrier Three handling the network coverage for the new Xiaomi smartphones in the UK. If you’re in the region, do you plan on picking up a new Mi 8 Pro or Mi 8 Lite?
