HTC and Verizon’s software teams are finally done with all their testing and will be releasing the Android Marshmallow update for the HTC One M8 on Monday. The news was shared on Twitter by HTC’s Mo Versi. With Android 6.0, the Verizon HTC One M8 will be able to use adaptive storage, doze and Google Now on Tap in addition to a dozen or so tweaks to HTC Sense.
Android’s monthly distribution update has shown small increases in the adoption of Android Marshmallow over the past few months, but those number are expected to see a huge spike over the next month or two as all major flagship phones from 2015 start receiving their updates to Android 6.0. So far, HTC is ahead of the pack in releasing its update for its 2014 and 2015 flagship devices, but it hasn’t done much to move the needle since HTC’s devices have not sold well over the past few years.
