In February of this year, Verizon Wireless officially announced the Wear24 smartwatch, which boasts Android Wear 2.0 on board.
At the time of the announcement, Verizon said that it would launch sometime in March. That initial launch date didn’t work out, but the big red carrier said today that the Wear24 will arrive on May 11. It will be priced at $350, or $299 with a two-year activation.
The Wear24 running Android Wear 2.0 out of the box and features 4G LTE connectivity. Also included is NFC support for Android Pay.
As far as the other specs are concerned, here’s how they break down:
- 480×480 1.39-inch AMOLED display
- 768MB of RAM
- 4GB built-in storage
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor
- Heart rate sensor
- Water resistant
- 450mAh battery and wireless charging
- Android Wear 2.0
- Wi-Fi, NFC, LTE
The Wear24 will be available at launch in three colors: Gunmetal Black, Stainless Steel, and Rose Gold. Verizon is positioning its wearable as a competitor to LG’s Watch Sport, among others, so it will be interesting to see how it compares.
