If you owned a first generation Moto 360, you might remember the annoyance of Motorola’s less-than-universal bands. They were regular bands, but they had to be notched to fit the recessed lugs of the watch. To solve this, SteelConnect went to Kickstarter to crowdfund beautiful metal adapters to use any watch band and ease the pressure on the backplate that cracked even with a stock leather band.
Well SteelConnect is back, this time with an adapter for the ASUS ZenWatch 3. The ZenWatch band situation is even worse than Motorola’s, since the bands are entirely proprietary. These metal adapters will allow you to use any 22mm band, and they even include quick release spring bars for a toolless install.
SteelConnect is only trying to raise $5,822 on Kickstarter, which is very little. Plus, the company has historical success on the crowdfunding site, so you don’t have to worry about not getting your product. They’re halfway there, so hit the source link and hop on the $27 early bird special before it’s gone!
