Google billboard points to October 4 as Pixel 2 event day

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of Google’s new Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2? If so, you may want to clear your schedule on October 4.

Google may officially announced its new Pixel phones on October 4. A billboard has been spotted in Boston with the phrase “Ask more of your phone.” and the Google logo below it. Below that logo is the date “Oct. 4”.

Obviously nothing is official until Google says it is, but an October 4 event for the new Pixel phones is a possibility. That date is exactly one year after the debut of the original Pixel phones, and it’s only one day off from the date that’s been rumored as the Pixel 2 announcement day. Events like these can always be moved around a bit before they’re official, though, so it’s possible that Google was at one point considering an October 5 event but then decided to shift it back a day.
