Rumor has it that the Google Pixel XL 2 will feature a Snapdragon 836 processor under the hood, giving it a slight boost over other current flagships from the likes of Samsung and LG. However, that may not end up being the case.
A report from Android Police states that Qualcomm does not have any plans, nor has it ever had any plans, to launch a Snapdragon 836 processor. If true, the upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 could boast a Snapdragon 835.
An FCC filing earlier this year confirmed that the Pixel 2 will have a Snapdragon 835, so there’s no real surprise there. And, considering that both the Pixel and Pixel XL from last year used the same processors, it’s not shocking to think that Google will do the same thing this year.
The rumor mill has also pointed to October being the month we get to see Google unveil both of its newest flagship phones, so we don’t have long to wait before all is revealed.
