Google continues to work on improvements for one of its most popular services, Gmail, with the latest addition leveraging the power of technology to make notifications even smarter and more helpful.
Google on Thursday officially announced what it says is notifications for “high priority emails”. Google will be leveraging machine learning to work out which email messages you receive are most important, and once you opt-in, you’ll only get notifications for those messages. This should limit the flood of notifications some Gmail users get every single day.
The feature is available right now for iOS users, but Google says it will be coming “soon” for Android. Unfortunately, no date has been revealed, so if this is a feature that sounds good to you and you’re using an Android device, you’ll have to wait a bit longer before you can take advantage of it.
What do you think of the idea?
