Google’s Call Screen feature for Pixel phones is already pretty nifty, but soon it’ll get even better.
Google says that it will add support for saving Call Screen transcripts later this year. When enabled, the feature will automatically save the transcript of the screened portion of a call once the call has ended. You’ll be able to access it by going into the Call Details section of an individual item in your Call Log.
The ability to automatically save Call Screen transcripts will begin rolling out later this year. It’ll be available to public beta testers of the Google Phone app first, and then all Pixel 3 users will get it later in the year.
With Call Screen, you can have the Google Assistant answer an incoming call to see what the caller wants, and then you can decide to answer the call, tell the person you’ll call them back, mark the call as spam, and more. Have transcripts saved automatically will come in handy for those times that you need to call someone back because you’ll be able to quickly and easily find what they said the first time they called you.
