The Motorola One was announced at IFA 2018, but saw only an international release at the outset. But just in time for the holiday season, Motorola is bringing its Android One smartphone to the U.S. The Motorola One will be sold exclusively through Best Buy, with online sales beginning on November 9 and in-store sales beginning on November 11. It should also be noted that the black version will only be sold online, and the white version will only be sold in Best Buy stores.
For a specs refresher, the Motorola One features the following:
- 5.9-inch 1520×720 display
- 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor
- 4GB RAM
- 64GB storage plus microSD card slot
- 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual rear cameras
- 8-megapixel front camera
- 3000mAh battery
- Fingerprint scanner
- Water and dust resistance
- Dual SIM card slots
- Headphone jack
- Android 8.1 Oreo (Android 9.0 Pie update coming soon)
Because of its status as an Android One device, the Motorola One is guaranteed to receive speedy updates, including updates to Android P and Q. Additionally, the software features only minor tweaks from Motorola, letting stock Android largely shine through.
The Motorola One is now available for pre-order from Best Buy for $399. As a reminder, the Motorola One is sold as an unlocked GSM phone, meaning that it will be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, but not Sprint or Verizon.
