Google has released its November 2018 security update for Android devices, which includes a variety of fixes for vulnerabilities, including some critical threats. While there’s nothing too out of the ordinary for the overall security update, there are some special fixes included in the update for Nexus and Pixel devices.
These fixes for Nexus and Pixel devices include improved picture-in-picture performance for both devices and apps, improved Strongbox symmetric key generation requests for Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL devices, and improved stability for notifications. In addition, this is a quarterly security update, so it should include a variety of performance tweaks and enhancements.
Factory images and full OTA images are posted for Nexus and Pixel devices. Others will have to wait until their respective manufacturer/carrier rolls out the OTA update.
Nexus/Pixel owners, are you seeing the update yet?
