Sonos promised to have Google Assistant support up and running by the end of this year, but it looks like that’s not going to happen. The company has announced that it is delaying support for the virtual assistant to an undisclosed date next year.
While it’s unfortunate that Sonos customers will have to wait a while longer, a delay to get things right is always better than a rushed release. And if you want to give it a shot earlier, you can sign up for the limited private beta. You’ll have to agree to some rules, like 14 hours of listening per week and answering surveys in a timely manner, but it’s worth a shot if you’re willing to help the company.
Initially the test will be for a few hundred homes, but it will expand to a few thousand in a few months. Give the beta a shot and make sure the 2019 release will be great for everyone!
