Android 9.0 Pie was supposed to launch for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1, and Xperia XZ1 Compact back in October, but it looks like some bugs kept the build from releasing to users.
Thankfully Sony has taken care of it and is now releasing the update for all three devices. The software features all the latest improvements of Pie along with1080p 960 FPS slow motion, HDR video, and the October security patch. It’s likely that this is the same build that was supposed to be released last month, hence the old security patch. Unfortunately, Sony has omitted the new Pie gesture navigation.
The rollout is limited to only some devices in some regions but should be heading to everyone’s devices in the next few weeks.
