Xiaomi‘s got its sights set on the European market, expanding into more regions with more of its devices. The latest is a dedicated gaming smartphone.
Xiaomi launched the sub-brand, Black Shark, earlier this year and introduced a smartphone with the same name. This is a device that’s meant to go right up against the likes of the Razer Phone 2 in terms of ability to play mobile games. But the Black Shark takes some things to the next level, including its liquid-cooled design.
If you’re in Europe and have had your eyes on this handset, then a launch in your neck of the woods is almost here. The Black Shark gaming phone, which includes a gamepad peripheral in the box, is launching in several different European markets on Friday, November 16. There’s no word on pricing just yet, but when the Black Shark launched earlier this year it retailed for around $480 for the model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, so pricing should be around there.
The Black Shark offers a 5.99-inch 1080×2160 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage. The device is liquid-cooled, has a 4000mAh battery, USB-C for charging, no 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint sensor, a pair of 12MP rear cameras, and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Black Shark launches in the following European countries on November 16: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
