In August of last year, Google aimed to give video calling a big boost of adrenaline with its Duo app. Now the company is back with another feature to bring to the Duo frontline.
Justin Uberti, an engineer at Google, has taken to Twitter to confirm that an audio-only calling feature is now live in Duo for all users. There’s a new update for the app available now, and once installed it should unlock the feature for you.
While the main draw of Duo is obviously the video calling, it’s good to see that Google is rolling out other features for the app as well. A video call might not always be appropriate, so a quick audio-only chat might be the best way to handle the conversation at the time.
Now we just need to get standard SMS support in Google Allo and most of the bases will be covered.
Do you use Google Duo at all? Will you now thanks to the audio-only addition?
