Instagram has announced a brand new update to its Stories feature which brings even more stickers into the mix.
Instagram Stories recently added “geostickers,” a quick way to promote a city, and now there are four new cities added to the mix: Chicago, Illinois; Tokyo, Japan; London, England; and Madrid, Spain. Instagram says that each of the geostickers were designed by local artists, and tapping on the sticker will showcase the artist’s name and other details.
Instagram Stories now also supports a “mini-selfie,” which can be turned into a selfie sticker now. Take a quick snapshot of yourself and you can add it right into any photo as a sticker, putting yourself in whole new areas without having to be there.
Stickers can be pinned now, too, allowing users to put a sticker where they want on a photo or video just by tapping and holding on the sticker of choice. It even works with Boomerang and hands-free video. If you want to pin multiple items, including text, that’s possible as well.
Instagram is also adding a new dedicated shortcut to get to a user’s favorite stickers. Just tap on the smiley face and swipe right, and you’ll see a page of your most often used stickers.
The new features are available in the update to Instagram rolling out now.
