Huawei recently hosted a meetup for users and fans of its Honor brand devices in Delhi, India. The company asked for advice and changes people would like to see in the software in the future. This on its own is commendable, and Huawei seems to be very good at listening to its users and actually putting effort into getting feedback.
People have asked for features like double tap to wake and shake gestures, which are very useful on other devices. And it seems that they do not like Huawei’s knuckle gestures, which I have found to be useless and barely functional.
At the meeting, the company announced some dates for future Android 8.0 Oreo updates. The Honor 8 Pro will be getting its Oreo update in December while the budget Honor 6X should get it in January 2018. For heavily skinned devices, this is a pretty good timeframe. When the 6X gets its Oreo update, it’ll be even more of a killer deal.
