On October 4, Google is scheduled to unveil brand new smartphones, including the oft-rumored Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. Not to just leave all the fun to smartphones, Google is apparently planning on unveiling a few other things, too.
That includes a brand new, smaller smart speaker called the Google Home Mini and a brand new virtual reality (VR) headset for its Daydream platform. According to a report from Droid-Life, Google will announce a new Daydream View VR headset on October 4.
Unfortunately the report doesn’t come packed with new information for the new headset. There are details on new colors, though: Charcoal, Fog, and Coral. The images also appear to show a bit more of a rugged design than the original iteration. The Daydream VR controller will be making a return, too.
The report indicates that Google will be bumping up the cost of the new Daydream View VR headset when compared to the first model, raising the price to $99 (versus the original $79). What Google changed to warrant the price hike, though, is unknown.
Do you plan on picking up a new, upgraded Daydream View VR headset if Google announces one next month?
