There’s no question that Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are pricey devices. They feature top-of-the-line specs, but not everyone is searching for a high-end device. To satisfy those individuals, Google has reportedly been working on a budget version of the Pixel 3, rumored to be called the Pixel 3 Lite when it launches. To add substance to the rumor, Russian site rozetked, which was the source of many Pixel 3 leaks, has revealed a prototype device codenamed “sargo” (note that it’s a fish name) that may be the Google Pixel 3 Lite. Here are some of the specs:
- 5.56-inch IPS (2220×1080) display
- 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 670 processor
- Adreno 615 GPU
- 4GB RAM
- 32GB storage
- 12-megapixel rear camera
- 8-megapixel front camera
- 2915mAh battery
- Rear fingerprint scanner
- 3.5mm headphone jack
While not a bad phone by any means, this leaked device certainly falls into the mid-range category. Excitingly, though, it features a headphone jack, which has become a common and annoying omission on most flagship phones.
The design is similar to the Pixel 3, though a little smaller. The bezels are also slightly larger and the exterior appears to be made out of plastic vs glass.
Additionally, the leak from rozetked makes mention of “bonito” (another fish name), a previously rumored budget Pixel 3 that is said to use the Snapdragon 710 processor. This report states that both sargo and bonito will see releases, but it’s always possible that only one could make it to market. We’ll keep you in the loop if we find out more.
