This October, Google Photos brought in Live Albums, a feature that automatically adds photos of specific people or pets to an album. The cap on Live Albums, however, was set at 10,000 photos and videos, with Live Albums refusing to accept new photos once the limit was reached. Within a short time, it became clear that the cap was set way too low for many users. Now, Google has increased the cap to 20,000 photos and videos.
While it was first noticed by users, Google has confirmed the news and changed its documentation. It may be surprising that users found the cap of 10,000 photos limiting, but it’s easy for photos of loved ones to pile up quickly, especially when you’re taking multiple shots at one time. Plus, Live Albums gather past photos by default, so it’s easy for an avalanche to take place.
Do you use Live Albums? Did you reach the original cap of 10,000 photos?
