Samsung Galaxy J7+ official; features dual rear cameras

Just three years ago, a smartphone with dual rear cameras was something to marvel at. The technology was young and considered a gimmick in many blogging circles. But as manufacturers have sought superior image quality, a growing majority of flagship smartphones began to feature dual cameras.

The latest device to join the trend is the Samsung Galaxy J7+. Unlike many smartphones with dual cameras, the J7+ is not a flagship, indicating that Samsung may expand the technology to some of its high-end, but not flagship, devices.

Specs of the Galaxy J7+ include a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage plus a microSD card slot, 16-megapixel front-facing camera, 3000mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner. The rear camera unit consists of a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. The combination of cameras allows users to achieve sharper details and adjust bokeh after capturing a shot.

Samsung is selling the Galaxy J7+ in Thailand, with three color options of black, pink and silver. Customers can pre-order the device today for THB 12,900 ($389 USD), though the ship date is unclear.
